The Owners:

Dr. Elizabeth B. Davidow is a 1995 graduate of Cornell University's veterinary college. She worked for 5 years at the Animal Emergency and Referral Center in Lynnwood and then participated in and completed a residency program based out of Dove Lewis Emergency Hospital in Portland, OR. In September of 2002, she achieved diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. Beth has 1 dog, Nate. Her special interests include transfusion medicine and ventilation therapy. She is also a consultant on VIN, Veterinary Information Network.

Beth Davidow

Dr. Jean M. Maixner is a 1987 graduate of University of Iowa's veterinary college. She has dedicated her career to emergency medicine in the greater Seattle area. Dr. Maixner has worked at the emergency clinics at Animal Emergency Clinic of Everett, Animal Emergency Hospital of PSCVM in Snohomish, and at the Animal and Emergency Referral Center of Lynnwood. Jean has 2 dogs, Ginger and Kenda, and 2 cats, Jesse and Emma. Her special interests include cardiology and kidney diseases.

Our Doctors:

 

Suzanne Endicott is our blood bank veterinarian. She graduated from Kansas State University in 1993 and has been practicing veterinary medicine in WA for the past 10 years. Her interests include internal medicine, endocrinology, ophthalmology and of course, blood banking. She has 2 cats Mo and Murphy and 2 dogs, Copper, an 8 year old golden retriever and Puck a 4 year old pug.

 

David Gill is a UC Davis graduate who has also devoted his career to emergency medicine. He has 2 dogs - one pitbull/couch potato and one "thrift store" terrier (found outside a thrift store), 2 cats, and a parakeet. He enjoys the internal medicine aspects of emergency medicine, the constantly changing focus from one patient to the next, and being able to help both suffering animals and their families.

David Gill

Beth Guerra graduated from the University of Illinois. She worked in a day practice near Chicago and an emergency hospital in the Seattle area for four years before coming to ACCES. She has Buddy, a six year old terrier mix and two portly cats, all rescued from a clinic in Chicago. Her special interests include trauma patients, nutrition, exotics and wildlife.

Beth Herman is a UC Davis graduate. She completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery in southern California and a residency in internal medicine and critical care medicine at Veterinary Referral Associates, outside of Washington DC. She is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in small animal internal medicine, and by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. Her special interests include nephrology (kidney disease), hepatic/biliary diseases, and management of critically ill internal medicine patient. She is a recent arrival to the Seattle area.

Julie March graduated from Cornell University. She practiced for one year on South Island of New Zealand. She has two dogs, Ryka and Fred. Her special interests are in immunology, infectious diseases, oncology and emergency care.

Patrick Miles is a Virginia-Maryland graduate and has worked in emergency medicine for the past 7 years. He has a special interest in wound management, emergency surgery and cardiology.

Kristine Mortimer is an Iowa state graduate. She was previously the medical director at a practice specializing in exotics. She enjoys treating exotics, such as birds and small mammals on emergencies.

Cherri Trusheim, is a graduate of Iowa State University and did an internship at Oradell Animal Hospital in New Jersey. She has worked in both day practice and emergency practices since her internship. She has one dog and has a special interest in the acute trauma patient.

Tamara Walker graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, completed an internship at Ontario Veterinary College, and completed her surgical residency and Master's degree at Washington State University. She worked in Victoria, B.C. in general practice for one year, worked as a clinical instructor at Washington State University for one year, and spent three years at a private referral surgical practice in Portland, Oregon. She also has a special interest in surgical oncology. At home, she has one dog, Kali, a 4-year-old Kelpie, and three cats, Névé, Firn, and Seuss. She loves living in the Pacific Northwest, and enjoys climbing, moutaineering, cycling, and reading.

Danielle Wassink graduated from Washington State University's veterinary college and completed an internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York. She has a special interest in pain management. She has a greyhound.

Akiko Westerhout is a graduate of the veterinary college at Colorado State University. She did an internship at Angell Memorial Hospital in Boston and then worked in another emergency hospital before joining our team. She has one Labrador and a manx cat. She is especially interested in cardiology and internal medicine.

Sherri Wilson is a UC Davis graduate. She completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Angell Memorial Animal hospital n Boston and an internal medicine residency at UC Davis. She owned her own mobile internal medicine and endoscopy business for 12 years before joining our staff. She has 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 rabbits, and various assorted fish. Dr. Wilson provides internal medicine consultations, endoscopy, rhinoscopy, and bronchoscopy at our facility. Her special interests include gastroenterology, immunology, and endocrinology. Our Management Team:

Jason Auge (Administrative Assistant) Jason has eight years of experience in administration in the computer industry. He is currently in school pursuing a business degree. He has three cats.

Roy Brock (Hospital Administrator) is originally from Pleasant View, Tennessee, located just outside of Nashville. He moved to Seattle in October, 2000. He was a corporate location manager of a major home-repair and remodeling company before joining our team. He has 2 golden retriever brothers, Niko and Bubba.

Jaime Mathis worked for over three years at veterinary hospital before joining our team as a receptionist. She has since been promoted to Administrative Assistant for our management team. She owns a cat named Moo shoo and another named Tofu.

Nya Stilwell is our human resources manager. Nya was previously the administrator at a large veterinary specialty practice in southern California and also worked as a zookeeper for wolves and large cats. She has two dogs - Flea and Toma.

Our Head Technician:

Lindan Spromberg LVT, VTS (ECC) has been doing emergency/critical care for the past five years. During this time she also attained her B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology at the University of Washington. She owns two extremely friendly and rowdy pit bulls and two equally rowdy but not as friendly macaws. She became boarded in Emergency and Critical Care in Fall 2005. She really enjoys critical care monitoring and working within the ICU. She has special interests in transfusion medicine, anesthesia, and hematology.

Our Receptionists:

Ursula McMahon has 12 years of prior experience in reception and office management in a large veterinary hospital in Colorado. She has one dog and four cats.

Dawndy Merritt worked as a lead receptionist at a local clinic before joining our team. She has a wide variety of pets including cats, dogs, birds, bunnies and an iguana. She also volunteers on a critter team at Seattle Animal Shelter. She is interested in learning as much as she can in the veterinary field.

Isabel Peach (Receptionist) has previous experience in grooming dogs. She has a one eyed cat named Baby. Isabel is going to pursue a career in animal care and welfare. Her special interests are in anatomy, swimming and Grey’s Anatomy and would like to get a Chinese Crested Dog in the near future.

Christy Thomson worked as the Animal Behavior Lead at PAWS Animal Shelter and as a Behavior Assistant at Old Dog Haven. She has one female dog named Lilu.

Tera Wilbur attended BCTI technical college and has many years of experience in customer service and office management.

Our Technicians and Assistants:

Diana Andrews (LVT) received her veterinary technical degree from Bel-Rea in Colorado. She has 20+ years of experience in veterinary medicine and has a special interest in emergency and critical care. She has one one-eyed cat, Telgar, and a deaf Rottweiler, Chaos, to whom she is teaching sign language.

Charlotte Bonnell (Client Liaison) has plans to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She volunteers for PAWS and has worked in a day practice for 2.5 years before working here. Charlotte has a dog named Franny, who is “a true mutt of unknown age and lineage.” Her special interests are in critical care and pathology.

Jacob Bridge (Veterinary Assistant) has a degree from UC Santa Cruz in marine biology. He previously worked for an animal shelter and owns both a beagle and a russian tortoise. He is interested in animal behavior and may like to go to vet school in the future.

Lindsay Bridgewater (Veterinary assistant) worked at an emergency clinic in Michigan before joining our team. She has 3 dogs, 1 cat, and 1 horse.

Jenny Brown (LVT) received her Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Washington. She has worked previously at University Animal Hospital in Tempe, Arizona and more recently at Five Corners Veterinary Hospital in Seattle. She has three cats, Bella, Hogan, and Ocee, and enjoys the many aspects of emergency veterinary medicine.

Shannon Brown (Veterinary Assistant) is working on getting her masters degree in acupuncture & oriental medicine including Chinese Herbal Medicine. She owns one dog, Mowgli and two cats, Digger and Dozer. She eventually wants to do acupuncture on animals, specializing in horses.

Matt Calzadilla (Veterinary Assistant) volunteered with the Seattle Animal Shelter for one year.  He owns a dog, rabbit, tortoise, hedgehog, lovebird and 2 ferrets. He also continues to foster pets for the animal shelter. His special interests lie in the care and behavior of small and exotic animals.

Andrea Clewley (Veterinary Assistant) has a B.S. in Biology and Zoology from the University of Washington. She worked as a seasonal marine animal rehabilitator at Alaska Sea life Center and a seasonal wildlife rehabilitator at Wolf Hollow Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. She is especially interested in zoonotic diseases.

Alison Deputy (LVT) received her B.S. in animal science from Brigham Young University in 1996. She has worked in day practice for 15 years, and is especially interested in surgery, anesthesia, and critical care. At home, she has a lazy cat named Harley, and a crazy kitten named Guinness.

Allison Dietz (Veterinary Assistant) managed and worked as a veterinary assistant in a Banfield pet hospital before joining our staff. She also helped start and a manage a veterinary blood bank. She is very interested in blood banking and in transfusion medicine.

Mandy Flatin  (LVT) has a B.S. in Veterinary Technology. She worked in North Dakota for three years as a technician before moving to the Seattle area. Mandy has a lab-cross named Jackson and a cat name Melman.

Amber Frey (LVT) graduated from Pierce College. She has one year previous experience working at a day practice. Amber has 2 iguanas, 4 cats and 1 bird.

Tana Greatorex (LVT) has been in the veterinary field since 2000 and graduated from Veterinary Technician School in 2003. Her special interests are in surgery and physical therapy. Tana has two cats, Isis and Choco.

Nicki Howe (Client Liaison) has worked at two previous small animal clinics before moving to Seattle and joining our team. She has a dog named Reilly and a cat named Owen.

Jennifer Johnson (LVT) graduated from LaGuardia Community College with an AAS in Veterinary Technology. She has previous experience working in practices in New York. She has one Pit Bull named Alabama.

Theresa Kincaid (LVT) comes to us after working three years in a veterinary practice. She also volunteers at the Woodland Park Zoo. Theresa has 3 cats and 1 guinea pig.

Morgan Meinema (Veterinary Assistant) has a B.S. in Animal Science from Washington State University. She has three cats Georgette, Fabio and Giovanni. Her goal is to go to school to be a veterinarian.

John Meyer (Veterinary Assistant) used to work at a family veterinary practice in New York. He has a French Bulldog named Baxter. His special interests are in surgery and anesthesia.

Heather Montgomery (Veterinary Assistant) has a BS in Biology and a BA in Anthropology from the University of Washington. She has previous experience working at the UW Primate Center and at day practices.  Heather owns 3 cats: Snooty Butler, Sarah, and Pretty Princess.

Megan Murphy (Veterinary Assistant) volunteers at NOAH, Purrfect Pals and PAWS. She has two dogs named Lita and Rogue, two cats named Jett O’Malley and Nana, a fish named Bubba, and two rats named Thelma and Louise. Megan has a special interest in surgery.

Linda Ness (LVT) spent several years as a licensed massage therapist before switching to the animal side. She had several years experience at another emergency facility before joining our team. She enjoys the adrenaline rush of helping animals during a true crisis. She has 4 cats and 2 birds, and specials interests in anesthesia and exotics.

Brynn Petersen (LVT) came to use with 8 previous years experience in emergency medicine. She has a cat with one eye, a cat with no eyes and a cat that is just plain lazy. Her special interests are in cytology analysis, exploratory surgeries and wounds.

Adam Pierce (Veterinary Assistant) has a bachelor's degree in media studies from University of Washington. He previously volunteered for the Humane Society down in Oregon. He has two goldfish and one calico cat named Garfield. He has a special interest in animal personality.

Julie Posch, LVT, VTS (ECC) (Lead Training Technician) has two bachelor’s degrees, one in zoology and the other in business. She has many years of experience in animal emergency. Her special interests are emergency critical care and anesthesia. She has one spotted dog named Kyra and one horse named Kip. Julie also has an array of farm animals.

Matt Reyes (Veterinary Assistant) has future plans to get a Dogue De Bordeaux. His special interests are in internal medicine, critical care and animal behavior. Matt is pursuing his career in veterinary medicine.

Daniela Rosgen (Veterinary Assistant) used to do horseback riding tours while living in Costa Rica. She has had dogs her entire life but she currently has a Labrador mix and a Border Collie mix.  Her goal is to become a veterinarian.

Christina Ryan (Blood Bank Assistant) has a BA in Communications and Anthropology. She has previous experience working in a day practice. Christina has four cats named Moses, Oliver, Juliet and Sheba. Her special interests are in Hematology and Radiology.

Tracey Schmidt (LVT) started working in the veterinary field in 1995. She has a BS degree in zoology from University of Washington and received her technician's license in 2001. She has one dog and two cats. She enjoys working in a place where technicians are trusted by the doctors and allowed to work as part of the team.

Riki Strough (LVT) had many years of prior veterinary experience in California before moving to Seattle and joining our team. She has 2 dogs and is especially interested in emergency medicine and orthopedics.

Stacy Van Essen (LVT) has a BS degree in Sociology, Health and Human Services and Psychology. She graduated from Pierce College with her Veterinary Technology degree. Her special interests are in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Neurology. Stacy has two dogs, Agbeko a Catahoula Leopard Dog and Bart an Australian Shepherd.

Diane Yamamoto (LVT) started her veterinary career in Colorado. She has worked in specialty, surgery, and emergency clinics before joining our team. She has one cat, Mxyzlpzlk. Her special interests in veterinary medicine include radiology, nutrition, and mean cats.
