We have received a lot of support over the past 6 years that ACCES has been open. As a way to say “thank you” in a real way, ACCES has become more involved in giving back to the community in a few unique ways.
Animal Critical Care and Emergency Services (ACCES) recognizes the Seattle Animal Control (SAC) and the Seattle Humane Society as quality animal shelters. These shelters are committed to the homeless pet population and are demonstrating responsible management of their facilities and the pet population. They have teams of dedicated workers who are faced with the challenge of caring for and comforting neglected, abandoned, abused and/or unwanted pets. If not for the services provided by Seattle Animal Control and the Seattle Humane Society many companion animals would remain neglected, abandoned and homeless. ACCES honors their dedication to this population and proudly supports these animal shelter groups.
Find your perfect companion at the Seattle Humane Society or King County Animal Care and Control Shelters. View our pick for an adoptable Pet of the Week!

Programs
Helping Save the Environment:

ACCES is certified 5-stars by the nationally recognized Envirostar Program.
Certified Envirostars businesses are given a 2-5star rating based on their commitment to reducing hazardous waste. The higher the star rating, the more proactive thebusiness has been in protecting the environment. Because of our
environmentally conscious practices, we help: reduce waste, voluntarily comply with dangerous waste & air quality regulations, have increased reuse and recycling of hazardousmaterials, decreased toxicity and use of toxic materials through
alternative products or processes, and select services and products based on
environmental considerations. We have also set specific goals to reduce hazardous waste over the next year and continue to look for ways to reduce negative effects on the environment with our ACCES "Green Team".
First-Aid Services:
ACCES often goes to animal-related events during the summer months to educate people about our
services. At many of these events, ACCES serves as the on-site first aid. We provide a veterinarian, a technician and/or assistant, and medical supplies. Should a fight break out, an animal get overheated, or any other situation occur, ACCES is there to help!
We highly value knowledge and are dedicated at ACCES to keeping up with the latest veterinary medicine. We also believe sharing the advanced knowledge we acquire with other members of the veterinary community. ACCES often hosts medical seminars and classes open to anyone in the
veterinary field
Educating the Veterinary Community:
In support of our core value of education, we collaborate in teaching with the local veterinary technician schools and veterinary colleges. We host technician externs from PIMA technical college and Pierce Veterinary Technology program every year. We host veterinary students during their clinical year from veterinary colleges around the country. This spring, we lectured at all the local programs including PIMA – Northgate campus, PIMA – Renton campus, Yakima Valley Community College, Portland Community College, Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
ACCES also hosts quarterly round table discussions as well as quarterly continuing education seminars presented by our specialty departments. For more information about ACCES CE events, please visit our For Veterinarians page.
Community
Events:
ACCES attends several annual pet events. We love to interact and visit with the community, as well as present information and answer any questions people may have about ACCES. We also recruit some blood donors and pass out educational materials. Visit us at the following events in 2010:
