ACCES strives to provide the best in Veterinary Internal Medicine. Dr. Sadek performs scoping procedures including: endscopy, rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy and cystoscopy.  In addition, she manages complex and challenging medical cases such as gastrointestinal diseases, liver diseases, endocrine diseases, difficult renal disease, protein-losing diseases and more. Dr. Sadek has a strong interest in cardiology, experience in echocardiography, and is available for help in management of cardiac patients.

 

About the Internist:

Deena Sadek, DVM DACVIM received her veterinary degree from Washington State University. She completed an internship in small animal internal medicine at Veterinary Specialists of Connecticut and her residency in internal medicine at the University of Florida. She received her board certification in Small Animal Internal Medicine in 1998. For the past 10 years, Dr. Sadek has been a practicing internist and educator. She worked at a large referral practice in Los Angeles, California for much of that time handling internal medicine and cardiology cases and was also the director of intern training. For the past year, she has been at Critical Care Associates in Seattle. Her areas of interest include: cardiology, liver disease, immunine mediated disease, and endocrinology and she has many years of experience with echocardiography as well as scope procedures. Dr. Sadek has published several articles in veterinary journals and enjoys lecturing for students and the veterinary community. In her time away from veterinary medicine, Dr. Sadek enjoys anything to do with the outdoors such as hiking, backpacking, walking her dogs, gardening and photography.

 

 

Sherri Wilson is a UC Davis graduate. She completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Angell Memorial Animal hospital in Boston and an internal medicine residency at UC Davis. She owned her own mobile internal medicine and endoscopy business for 12 years before joining our staff. Dr. Wilson no longer sees patients at ACCES. However, she consults with our in-house doctors on difficult internal medicine cases and provides educational seminars both in house and in the community.

 

 

 

 

 

Internal Medicine Services include (but are not limited to):

  • Consultation with your regular veterinarian on complex medical cases
  • Endoscopy and colonscopy for gastrointestinal issues including inflammatory bowel disease, neoplasia, and foreign body retrieval
  • Bronchoscopy for evaluation of respiratory conditions
  • Rhinoscopy for evaluation of chronic nasal discharge or other upper respiratory issues
  • Bone marrow aspiration for evaluation of anemias and leukemias
  • Echocardiography for evaluation of heart disease
  • Other diagnostic blood and urine testing
