ACCES Staff Bio Picture

Lindsay Bridgewater joined the ACCES team in 2006 after having spent two years working at the Wilson Veterinary Clinic in Michigan. Lindsey is currently a member of our ACCES client liaison team and co-lead reception manager. In addition to her customer service activities, Lindsay is an active supporter of the ACCES Blood Bank with her dog Bandit a current ACCES blood donor.

Roy Brock, MBA, CFO, graduated with a Bachelor of Science, History from Austin Peay State University in Clarkesville, Tennessee and a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. Roy has the distinction of joining ACCES in 2003 as its very first employee. Outside of ACCES, Roy is actively involved in the community as the current President of the Lake City Chamber of Commerce and having previously served on both the North Seattle Community College Technical Advisory Board and the Lake City North District Council.

Jean Maixner, DVM is one of the owners  and is the administrator for both ACCES hospitals. A 1987 graduate of the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Jean Maixner has dedicated her career to emergency medicine in the greater Seattle area. Previously, Dr. Maixner has worked at the Animal Emergency Clinic of Everett, the Animal Emergency Hospital of PSCVM in Snohomish, and at the Animal and Emergency Referral Center of Lynnwood. Currently, Dr. Maixner is on the advisory board for PIMA veterinary technical college and is actively involved with the Puget Sound Veterinary Association as treasurer and chair of the Animal Cruelty Education Committee. As ACCES' Hospital Administrator, Dr. Maixner is responsible for integrating hospital systems so they run efficiently and seamlessly while working to develop collaborative client and community relationships.

Joshua Martin joined the ACCES team in 2008, but has worked in veterinary day practices as a receptionist, kennel and veterinary assistant since 2000. Joshua also gained additional animal care experience as a volunteer at Sarvey Wildlife Center and as a dogsledder. His special interests are in veterinary medicine, biochemistry and genetics. Josh owns two cats, Possum and Panda, who are part of the ACCES Blood Bank donor program.

Nya Stilwell, SPHR, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and earned her certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) in 2012. Prior to joining ACCES as the hospitals' human resources manager in 2006, Nya was previously the administrator of a larger veterinary practice in Southern California. Nya’s experience in the veterinary and animal care field extends to her past work as a zookeeper with both wolves and large cats.

Riki Strough, LVT, joined ACCES in 2005 and is currently the ACCES operations and purchasing manager. Prior to joining ACCES, Riki had worked in the veterinary field in California since 1998. Her interests in the field extend to emergency medicine and orthopedics. 

Alexis Warner graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California Lutheran University. Alexis joined the ACCES team in 2010 and is currently the ACCES referral coordinator and ACCES Seattle reception lead. Alexis’ interest in veterinary medicine took root when her childhood dog became a patient of ACCES.

Jon Wieringa is the Technical and Hospital Manager at ACCES Renton. Jon began his first job in veterinary medicine nearly 25 years ago, and has worked in emergency medicine and critical care for most of the last 13 years.  He has a special interest in critical care and trauma anesthesia, is a boarded Veterinary Technician Specialist in Emergency and Critical Care and a member of the Academy of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Technicians.  In his free time he works as an EMT, search manager, and search and rescue K-9 handler for the King County Sheriff’s Office.

Tera Wilbur rejoined the ACCES team in 2011 after a brief time spent as a receptionist at a local veterinary day practice. Tera is currently a member of our client liaison team and acts as the lead receptionist at ACCES Renton. Tera earned her Microsoft Applications Certificate from the Business Computer Technical Institute in 2002 and is currently pursuing course work in business management. In her spare time, Tera is actively involved with her children’s school.

Shin Zhang joined ACCES in 2008 and brought to the team more than eight years of experience in busines and human resources administration.
