Anthony Tobias, BVSc, PhD, DACVIM, joined ACCES in 2012 after spending 10 years as an associate professor of cardiology at the Veterinary Clinical Services Department at the University of Minnesota. As an associate professor, Dr. Tobias was the recipient of numerous teaching awards including the Small Animal Clinical Sciences Excellence in Teaching Award, Class Teaching Award from the Sophomore Class for 2000 – 2001, and the Award for Curriculum Development and Revision. In addition to teaching in the veterinary curriculum, Dr. Tobias mentored residents and interns, provided care to clients in the Veterinary Medical Center and engaged in clinical and laboratory research. Prior to his tenure, Dr. Tobias completed his residency in cardiology at the University of California Davis and his PhD at Washington State University. He is the author of more than 30 journal articles in the field of veterinary cardiology and served on the editorial board of the journal of veterinary cardiology.
